A Community-Wide Art Project Blooming Spring 2026 Scituate, MA — Pop up Art School, in collaboration with the Scituate Town Library, is pleased to announce Garden of Threads, a community-wide, collaborative art project inviting kids, teens, and adults to create a vibrant felted garden that will be displayed in the library during the months of April and May. Garden of Threads brings together participants of all ages through six hands-on artmaking events, where community members will create needle felted flowers, bees, and butterflies. Each individual piece will become part of a larger installation resembling a blooming field of flowers—celebrating creativity, connection, and shared experience. The project kicks off on Thursday, February 19, from 2:00–4:00 PM, with a multigenerational felt flower workshop. Additional sessions include: Monday, March 9, 6:30 PM to 8 PM – Felted Flowers for adults Thursday, March 12, 4 PM to 5:30 PM – Felted Butterflies for kids Grades 2 to 5 Saturday, March 14, 1 PM to 2:30 PM – Felted Bees for adults Monday, March 16, 10 AM to 11:30 AM – Felted Butterflies for kids Gades 2 to 5 Monday, March 16, 1 PM to 2:30 PM – Felted Flowers for teens Grades 6 to 12 The completed installation will be unveiled during a community celebration on Wednesday, April 8, from 5:00–7:00 PM in the Scituate Town Library Gallery. Light refreshments will be provided. All events are free to the public. Please register for the felting programs on the library event calendar. Pop up Art School is a mobile art studio that brings custom, hands-on art experiences to libraries, Councils on Aging, and corporate workplaces that help teams and communities relax, connect, and collaborate. Garden of Threads is an example of their custom work, an approach they also bring to teambuilding events seeking meaningful, hands-on experiences.
