MARSHFIELD, ROCKLAND, MA, ISSUED MARCH 20, 2026… Road to Responsibility (RTR; http://roadtoresponsibility.org), one of the region’s largest and most successful nonprofit organizations supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will co-sponsor the South of Boston Caring Force Rally on Friday, April 10th from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Double Tree in Rockland, mobilizing support for increased and sustainable legislative funding for human services.

RTR is sponsoring this rally alongside BAMSI, JRI, New England Village, Plymouth Cape ARC, REACH Inc., and Seven Hills Family Services.

The event will bring together human services providers, workers, local representatives, government officials, and other interested parties and advocates from across the region to make a strong, unified case to legislators about why increased funding for human services is essential.

Central to the rally’s message are two legislative bills introduced by The Provider’s Council, the largest association of community-based, non-profit human service organizations in Massachusetts, serving as the leading voice for advocacy, workforce development, and public policy. The bills would create a student loan repayment program for human services workers and ensure a livable wage for private, community-based nonprofit human services workers.

The South of Boston rally is one of several regional events being held in advance of the 14th Annual Caring Force Rally at the Massachusetts State House on May 13th. The Boston rally is organized by Caring Force, a grassroots advocacy initiative of The Provider’s Council, with a mission to create a stronger Massachusetts that protects its most vulnerable population while ensuring human services workers receive the pay, recognition, and respect they deserve.

“Our mission is to help the people we support live full, meaningful lives. To do that we must invest in the workforce that makes this mission possible,” said Christopher T. S. White, Ed. D., president and CEO of Road to Responsibility. “We hope to see many community members come out to join us at the DoubleTree Rockland on April 12th as we advocate for important legislative changes that will impact the future of the individuals and families we serve.”

The DoubleTree Rockland is located at 929 Hingham Street.
(March 10, 2026) – With snow finally cleared and warmer days ahead, Interfaith Social Services announces their 52nd Stop the Stigma 5K, scheduled for April 25 in North Quincy. As one of the first 5Ks of the season in the region, organizers of the annual run and walk are hoping people are ready to get out of the house and enjoy the spring weather, all while supporting mental health. They hope to draw a record 1,000 participants this year.
Proceeds from the Stop the Stigma 5K support Interfaith’s New Directions Counseling Center. The Center acts as a safety net for uninsured and underinsured members of the community by offering services on a sliding scale fee scale. To further break down barriers to receiving treatment, new clients to the New Directions Counseling Center receive their first four sessions free of charge.
In addition to fundraising, runners and walkers taking part in the event help to “Stop the Stigma” by breaking down stereotypes and stigmas surrounding mental illness by talking about mental health and visibly showing their support for their neighbors, friends and family dealing with mental illness and addiction. Many participants choose to run the race in memory of a loved one they’ve lost, or to show support for others who are currently struggling with their mental health. Many run for their own personal mental health journeys.
Access to mental health care continues to be a critical issue in the U.S., with more than 1 in 5 adults experiencing a mental illness each year and less than half receiving the services they need. Oftentimes, those facing mental health crisis cannot afford treatment or are underinsured. Some feel shame or perceive stigmas surrounding mental health.
Over the past 10 years, the Stop the Stigma 5K has raised close to $1 million to assist New Directions’ clients, allowing hundreds of individuals and families to get the mental health care they need. By participating in the 5K, thousands of local residents have chosen to take a stand against mental health stigmas and support those experiencing mental illness and addiction.

“Each year, we’ve welcomed more and more participants, and we hope to reach 1,000 this year,” said Paula Daniels, Director of Development at Interfaith Social Services and Stop the Stigma 5K’s Race Director. “This is a cause that so many of us can connect to. We want everyone to know that there is no shame in mental illness. It is okay to ask for help.”

The 2026 Stop the Stigma 5K will be held April 25 at 9:30am at the Kennedy Center in North Quincy. It is a professionally timed event, with medals for winners in a variety of age levels. The 5K route winds through the Squantum neighborhood, with picturesque views of the Harbor and Boston’s skyline. Strollers and leashed pets are welcome. Participants registering before March 27 will receive a race t-shirt. Registration is open now at StoptheStigma5k.org.

The event will feature a raffle, which will be posted online in April and is open to the public. The raffle features hotel stays, Red Sox tickets, restaurant certificates, gift cards and much more. Join Interfaith’s email list to get reminders about the raffle at interfaithsocialservices.org/join_email_list.

The 2026 Stop the Stigma 5K is sponsored by many generous local businesses, including Presenting Level Sponsors: Arbella Insurance Foundation and Wulfpac Charitable Funding; 5K Level Sponsors: Boston Harbor Studios, The City of Quincy - Mayor Koch's Office, and The Heritage Companies; Gold Level Sponsors: Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton, Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation, J.
Last year, The Art of Inclusion Gala was more than just a gallery show—it was a celebration of talent, heart, and inclusion. It was a night to remember: our artists walked the red carpet, showcased their masterpieces to a packed house of friends and family, and enjoyed tasty food catered by our very own Launch Eats food truck.
Each piece of art was hung proudly and beautifully thanks to our partners at the South Shore Art Center! Creating the experience of a lifetime for our artists to sell their art -- many of our artists chose to list their work for commission and walked away with the pride of being professional artists.

Be Part of the Magic in 2026

This year, we’re doing it again, and we want your art to bring our community to life. We are looking for artists to help us turn the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset into a vibrant window of inclusion and creativity.

The Exhibit: April 30th – May 2nd
The Grand Finale Party: May 2nd | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

The Goal: Celebrating inclusion, selling art, bringing our community together and while raising funds for vital programs that help our clients live their lives, barrier free.
Why Sponsor The Art of Inclusion?

When you become a sponsor, you aren’t just putting your logo on a sign—you are fueling a movement of belonging on the South Shore. Last year over 200 people attended and this year we will take over the entire gallery

Your support does three vital things:
Powers Progress: 100% of proceeds go directly toward launching new, vital initiatives at South Shore Support Services, providing life-changing programs for individuals with cognitive disabilities and autism.

Strengthens Our Arts Community: This event is hosted at the South Shore Art Center, a nonprofit pillar of Cohasset. Your sponsorship supports the continued collaboration between human services and the local arts.

Celebrates Inclusion: You are helping provide a "Red Carpet" platform for artists who are often overlooked, proving that talent knows no bounds.
Launch Eats!
